After you’ve been in an auto accident, and you believe that you may be partially or totally at fault, it’s good to be honest with the police of what occurred. Because anything that you say to the police, ultimately is going to be contained in the police report, and you may be asked questions later on.

Your credibility is very important, so if you don’t provide accurate information, it also hurts your credibility for the case itself.

If you think the accident is your fault, you should be honest with the police officers at the scene of the accident. You don’t have to admit that you did anything wrong, but it’s good to give a version that is at least accurate, or give as much information you think is appropriate without saying anything that is false.
